GETTING TO ELCHE

Elche is the capital of the Baix Vinalopó region in the south of the province of Alicante. Together with Alicante (25 km from Elche), Murcia (50 km from Elche) and other larger cities in the area, Elche forms part of the southern stretch of the Mediterranean Basin.

BY PLANE:

Elche is perfectly connected with the rest of Spain and other countries through the international Alicante – Elche Airport, approximately 13 km from Elche. The city center of Elche can be reached easily by bus or taxi.

From Alicante to Elche by Regional-Train: The cities of Elche and Alicante are connected by the Cercanías commuter line (Murcia-Alicante). Here medium- and long-distance train lines connect Alicante with other major Spanish cities. The commuter train is scheduled to depart every 30 minutes to 60 minutes, and the journey from Alicante to Elche lasts about 25 minutes.

The city of Elche has two stops: Elx Parq – Elche Parque (which is closest to the Universidad Miguel Hernández, city center and conference center) and Elx Carrús – Elche Carrús. Timetables for regional trains from Murcia to Alicante are available at Renfe.
